GOING, B. THE JOURNEY (2:28):
A concept work containing three songs that are thematically linked. Written over the period of March 6-21,1995.

While hard to admit, I was feeling like "I'm Your Captain" by Grand Funk Railroad while working on this track. One of my earlier bands, Blitzkrieg, did a cover of that song before you were all born, and the mood of that piece was in my head and heart while I was working on this. There's a part late in the song, after the mellow section, where the snare snaps and the strings kind of take off. That, to me, is what this song was about: going with grace and strength.

This song was previously released online as an INTERNET ONLY RELEASE (IOR) on the original MP3.com web site, as part of a Digital Automatic Music (D.A.M.) CD through MP3.com, and at the Artist Community.

INSTRUMENT VOICING: Voices used on this track are Piano (2 tracks), Rock Bass, Velo Harminix (Guitar), WarmSrings, Soaring Strings, and drums.

HARDWARE/SOFTWARE: Roland JV-35, Performa 6400 Mac, my friend MasterTracks Pro, a DBX gate, an Aphex Aurel Exciter, Tascam board, M-Audio SOLO firewire interface and Garage Band to get the track out of MasterTracks, iTunes to convert it from AIFF to MP3. And Dreamweaver and Photoshop CS2 to build this page. Many thanks to all those whose hard work on these items made it possible for me to share this with you.
